Sorry for being so long between blogs. Life has been running
at a fairly high pace since we last posted an update on August 30. We have kept
busy with selling furniture and some of the garage stuff. Almost all of our
furniture has been sold which will make packing easier.
On September 3, Shannon drove down to Imperial to spend the
next 8 days driving combine for Ross and Brenda. This is the fourth
year she has drove combine for them and enjoys it very much. Rain shortened her
time there by about 4 days, but it is also great to have her home. While
Shannon was gone, Scott drove combine for Jim and Karen, but we only had two
days in which we could go. It is very wet in our area and our first sprinkle of
snow arrived this morning, so it will be awhile before the combines roll again.

Snow in September. At least it didn't last long! |
Scott is back at Good Shepherd Community Church preaching
for the first four Sundays in September and two in October. It has been great
to be back with our church family before we will leave for Ukraine.
We bought a Seacan last week, but it needs to be placed in a
better spot yet. The ground was too wet when it arrived, but the time is coming
fast to where we need to use it. We have rented out our home, effective noon on
September 28, to a great young couple and their little girl. We hope to have
everything out on September 27 and be able to wake up in sleeping bags on the
28th, hand over the keys and leave. Still lots to do but the 28th is coming.
We need to make sure that the joy of the Lord remains our
strength and not allow the dwindling time to cause us to panic. God is our
strength and He will give us wisdom in the midst of busyness! He has a plan and
we need to keep our eyes on Him and trust His ways. He has been so faithful in
the journey towards Ukraine and He is the same, yesterday, today and
forever!!
We are also getting the information ready that we need to send to
the Ukrainian Consulate in Toronto. We received the papers needed from Ukraine
and we are waiting on a few more documents before we can send it in and get
Visas to be in Ukraine long-term. We are getting passport photos tomorrow to
attach to their documents. Hopefully this week we will have it in the mail. We
can get it to the Ukrainian Consulate in two days and then they need ten days
before they send it back to us. We want to have it in our hands before we
purchase our flights to make sure we don't need to postpone our flights. If we
can get the Visa information off this week, we should have everything back
by early October and we will be set.
Today, more things are being finished or moved out. Shannon
finished her last sewing projects and her sewing machine and serger are now
packed. Shannon's sewing business has been a blessing to us and to the
community of Cut Knife and area. She will be missed. :(
Our deep freeze found a new home today, as it moved cross
the street this afternoon. We don't ever remember NOT having a freezer and often more than one, but now all we have
is what is in the fridge freezer. We have definitely been scaling down!
Today, Shannon worked at the Post Office for two hours and
also on Wednesday and Thursday and ALL day on Friday, by herself! She will do
well.
We appreciate your prayers for us at this time! God is SO good to each and every one of us!
