Last day in our house!

The last 10 days have been jam-packed with to-do lists!! Tonight, we can happily say they have all been stroked off! Let me tell you a bit about the whirlwind...

Packing and cleaning, sorting, and deciding what is important enough to put in the suitcase and what stays behind in a box. That is difficult to do sometimes.

Our documents arrived from Ukraine and then we had some last minute things to take care of before we could send them away to the Ukrainian Embassay in Toronto. It was a bit tentative with the rumour of a possible postal strike. (My inside source said that it shouldn't affect most mail delivery.)

Scott was busy preparing his sermons, doing yardwork, digging vegetables and helping with decisions about  packing and helping with cleaning. He also did all the work about finding a good house insurance company, which is a lot work when you are renting out your house!

These past few days were spent prioritizing our "want to take" items, weighing the bags, and then repeating the process, sometimes several times!

The begining of the piles.

More things we want to take.

6 bags, 2 carry-ons and 2 personal items. We did it!!

Today was deadline day! Everything had to be out of the house so that in the morning we can do a walk-through with the renters before handing over the keys.

This evening we both drove a loaded vehicle to the farm where our SeaCan is. Right now, it doesn't look we will be able to park the car in it, but a few hours of work next week will rectify that.
The last load of boxes.

It's all got to go in there!

The back half has been neatly stacked and packed.

Next week, we hope to enjoy a slower pace while we make final preparations as we wait for the visas to be issued. Then we will book our flights! We are aiming for Monday, October 22 from Saskatoon.

Enjoy your weekend, and be alert for those farmers who are trying to get their crops off!
