The end of July

We returned from New Norway Sunday evening (July 22) to discover that hail had passed through the area! Fields and gardens, including ours, were beaten down to varying degrees. Our lettuce and rhubarb took the biggest hits, but the flowers and tomatoes also sustained some damage. Hopefully, the path of destruction wasn't too wide and long.

We spent Monday, July 23 to Saturday, July 28 at Living Waters Camp taking in the Family Camp. The guest speakers shared God's Word very clearly and powerfully! We were challenged and encouraged to be diligent to live out our faith every day, not just on Sundays. It was great to reconnect with old friends, sit around a bon fire talking about God, and get lots of rest. Scott was able to get in a game of softball in the annual Campers vs. Pastors game. Sadly, the Pastors lost out by 2 runs.

Shellbrook Pentecostal Assembly and Parkside Pentecostal Church had a joint service (July 29) and welcomed us warmly with great conversations and delicious food! Thank you to the cooks!

Yesterday we spent the morning catching up on the yard work. I even worked on my tan! That hasn't happened in a while. For Mother's Day Scott gave me a hammock and we put it up in the afternoon. I had a little nap in it! Very comfortable. Thanks, Sweetie!

We get to enjoy a few days at home this week before traveling to Alberta to speak at two churches and take in the National Conference of the EFCC in Lethbridge. On the way, we will have lunch in Alsask with my sister and her husband. We are looking forward to that.

Tomorrow we get to serve in the kitchen at Manitou Lake Bible Camp with others from our community. It is rewarding and loud! 60 - 100 kids ages 6-9 in the dining hall for meals makes for a lot of energy in one place! Keep summer Bible camps in your prayers. This is the only time all year some children hear about Jesus.

In our travels we are enjoying watching the fields ripen as harvest gets closer and closer. We are so thankful to live in a country that produces so much of the world's food. Our farmers play a very important role in the survival of so many people!

What are you thankful for? See if you can list 25 things!
